PUGA® Polyurethane

Polyurethane (PU/PUR) has been used since 1937 to manufacture technical products used in devices working under heavy loads which cause significant mechanical and dynamical strain, such as bending, compression or twisting. What is more, polyurethane perfectly protects working surfaces against excessive wear due to abrasion process.
br>In the field of material engineering, this material perfectly fills the gap between rubber and construction plastics, and increasingly often replaces rubber, ceramics, basalt or metal alloys in terms of production of technical parts for industrial machines and equipment.

Based on our hard-earned knowledge and experience in the scope of manufacturing polyurethane products, GASKET Sp. z o.o. company in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, designed materials based on a polyurethane matrix dedicated for specific applications with properties best suited to the function of the product in the device. This material was named PUGA® polyurethane.

Polyurethanes have excellent mechanic properties (tensile strength, resistance to further tearing if the material is punctured or torn). They are highly resistant to abrasion and compression, they are also perfect dampening elements thanks to their elasticity. The material life in using polyurethane parts is 6 to 10 times longer than in case of rubber products

They're characterised by very good resistance to mineral oils, acids, petrol, solvents as well as weak acid and base solutions.

They don't age in the presence of oxygen, ozone or light radiation (including UV), which greatly extends the lifetime of polyurethane products.

They may be used in continuous operation, maintaining the elasticity of rubber within the temperature scope from -30 (-50) to +90 (+125) ºC in an environment with pH = 4 – 12.
